I was working with Habitat in AL a few years back and thinking about what to do next...I thought I might travel around the world looking at cities and buildings and the way people moved through cities and write about the experience in the form of a 'zine...I came up with the name Grope. The word seemed an accurate description of the way in which I wanted to travel...Somewhat blindly, without relying on guide books. Instead I wanted to put faith in my other senses to listen and feel my way around. When I ended up taking a somewhat fixed position in New York the travel/architecture/culture magazine idea ("like National Geographic but different and for Grrls") definately went to the back burner.
